  • I had seen some of Lesley's beautiful artwork at a friend’s house and visited her studio hoping to find something suitable. Lesley asked me about my tastes and suggested a commission. I had never done anything like that before but she made it so easy. She asked lots of questions about me and my life and listened very carefully. She created ‘Mon Coin du Monde’ which is so beautiful and encapsulates my life perfectly; it's better than anything I could have dreamed of.  Apart from the original meeting, all was done via the internet because I live in France. I thoroughly recommend this talented and intelligent artist: you will never regret on embarking on a creation with her. Thank you so much.

  • Lesley worked with us at Askews Legal to produce 4 vibrant pieces for our newly refurbished boardroom. She listened carefully to our ideas and spent time planning, sketching and working up ideas, keeping us informed at each stage through emails and studio visits. It was intriguing to watch the creative process come into play. She wove aspects of the legal system, as well as aspects of Coventry, into the finished pieces and we were bowled over by the results. People always comment on the work and they are always interested in the stories behind them

  • Lesley’s work is unique and I’m fascinated by the process she uses to create these pieces. When’ Midsummer Dream’ became available, I was immediately drawn by the vibrant colours and beautiful form of the plant shapes. Lesley gave us the opportunity to purchase and helped us to choose a frame. My husband and I are thrilled to own one of Lesley’s beautiful, original artworks and it has received many admiring comments from guests to our home. -

  • Lesley was a delight to work with. She gently asked questions to tease out what I really wanted from the picture and I couldn’t be happier with the results. This is autumn and burnt, golden sunlight in a frame. This riot of colour is just joyous and I love it.

  • Lesley is such a talented and creative artist. What makes her stunning work even more interesting is her knowledge about the plants and flowers she paints. I love finding out the meanings and stories behind her pieces. So happy to have ‘Blue Mist’ hanging in my home, it brings a burst of springtime to the gloomiest of days. It's like having a beautiful bluebell wood of my own....

  • I was always an admirer of Lesley’s brilliant work so for our 10th wedding anniversary, I commissioned her to produce a bespoke piece to surprise my wife. The result was incredible and my wife was overwhelmed with it. It now takes pride of place on the wall of our dining room and is always commented upon when we have guests. I cannot recommend Lesley enough, not only is she a first class artist but she is a lovely lady too.

  • Few years ago I volunteered at the Herbert art Gallery in Coventry and often supervised gallery exhibitions. I was in awe of a piece of work on display during one of the Coventry Open Exhibitions and this turned out to be a painting by Lesley Whelan. I passed on my compliments to her and went on to actually purchase the said piece. It is still on display in my home and is a treasured possession. Lesley is a very talented artist.

  •   This piece of work encapsulates the story we wanted to tell. Lesley really listened to what we were looking to achieve. She came up with some fabulous ideas creating a piece that is a fitting tribute to our family, past and present. Her attention to detail when choosing colours that matched our flooring was second to none. It is a much-loved piece and he's always favourably received. We would highly recommend working with Lesley. A warm, genuine artist.

  • It is not until you have one of Lesley’s pictures that you realise the power of art to uplift a wall, a space and a mood. This picture does all of that. It is like a friend you know is there, who gives you a cheery word when needed. In my discussions with Lesley, I asked for something which signified new beginnings. Her work around nature lends itself to a picture which signifies spring and new, glorious youthful possibilities. This picture really does have the wow factor in every way!

  • Renovation of our Tucson ranch-style home has been ongoing. When we began to think about bringing the renovations to life, Lesley was an enormous support. She captured the colours of the desert that nobody sees; the pinks and purples of winter cacti. These are the colours that fill our garden and now bring joy to our new bedroom. Lesley worked hand in hand with us to create a beautiful image that fills us with joy every time we look at it. Thank you so much, Lesley

  • When I asked Lesley to commission a painting for me I didn't imagine it would be so amazing! I wanted it as a special present for my husband and said he loved the Lake District and autumn. Not much to go on but Lesley captured my thoughts entirely and made them her artistic own. The result was a stunning array of golds andrReds reflecting the grasses of Cumbria. He loved it and it still hangs on our wall six years late as you can see. We love it!

  • We bought our first picture by Lesley from an exhibition. Recent changes to our home encouraged us to consider some new pieces. We met in her studio and talked over a coffee. ‘Why not commission me?’ she asked, ‘We've never done that before’ we replied. She made it so easy! The conversation led to a specification of subject, content, colours, size, frame, time scale and price. Emails came regularly with progress in photos at all stages. What a result! Our own creation just right for the location care of one truly creative, caring artist.

  • When we decorated our lounge, we wanted to commission a bespoke piece which would match the colour scheme and focus in on our wedding flowers.  We are absolutely delighted with the end product  and I still smile when it catches my eyes. The most daunting process of  commissioning is probably the investment and not knowing what it will look like at the end. We found the value very acceptable and being involved throughout the process meant that there were no “bad surprises” at the end. We would highly recommend Lesley, she was very approachable and extremely easy to work with. A delight! If we had more walls, she would be our number one choice!

  • Lesley has painted 3 works for us and they all hang in our home in East Hampton, New York in the US. The largest work is a huge piece called Sea Drift; it was based on the Atlantic coastline you find here in The Hamptons. It’s a constant reminder of the natural beauty of this area and is especially poignant as it’s the body of water separating us from our roots in the UK. The lines in it create a sense of tranquillity and seem to transport us between the two places. We love it!
